Yoga

Individual and group classes

Styles offered:

- Hatha (Sivananda school and other styles)
- Ashtanga Yoga (self-led Mysore style)
- Power Vinyasa Yoga

Duration: 1 to 2h (depending on style and student´s needs)

Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga is the best-known form of yoga in the West because it is often taught as a form of physical therapy. A typical hatha yoga practice consists of a sequence of asanas, or physical poses, designed to exercise all parts of the body in the course of the practice. The student is taught to reach a proper form and alignment and the pose is held for a period of time, during which the practitioner concentrates on breathing correctly.

Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga, which means "eight limbs" in Sanskrit, is a fast-paced, intense style of yoga. A set series of poses is performed, always in the same order. Ashtanga practice is very physically demanding because of the constant movement from one pose to the next.

Power Vinyasa Yoga
Power yoga is a general term used in the West to describe a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa-style yoga. It is closely modeled on the Ashtanga style of practice but unlike Ashtanga, power yoga does not follow a set series of poses. Therefore, any power yoga class can vary widely from the next. What they have in common is an emphasis on strength and flexibility.

Pranayama

Zana got her certification on Pranayama at Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, one of the oldest and world renowed Yoga institutes in India, which focus on scientific research, training and Yoga Therapy.
The classes are designed to build a pranayama practice, slowly and steadily.
Duration: 1h

Prana is the vital energy, the life-sustaining force of all living beings and runs the universe. Pranayama (literally, "control of prana") isn't just breathing exercises. Through pranayama, you use the breath to release and channel the body's stores of internal pranic energy, which helps to nurture a high level of physical health and mental clarity.
Most people come across to Yoga first through asanas, which feeds the ingrained myth that Yoga is all about physical postures. Traditionally, though, the practice of Pranayama has been seen as the core of hatha yoga practice.
In Pranayama, the patterns of breathing which normally happen unconsciously, are replaced by consciously applied breathing techniques practised over a longer period. There is a variety of techniques, each with different groups of muscles, above all the diaphragm, as well as the muscles in the chest, abdomen and pelvic floor. In this way the movements of the breath can be controlled. As a first result the awareness for the inner processes of breathing can be increased. Unconscious, habitual patterns of breathing thus can become conscious.
In the human organism there is a mutual relationship between cognitive and physiological processes. Direct connections between physical and psychical changes and changes of breathing patterns can be observed. For example fear leads to a more shallow and faster breathing, or anxiety to a sudden and involuntary inhalation and holding in of the breath.
So, the practice of breathing can be regarded as a connecting link between processes of the body and the mind. The practice of pranayama thus in yoga is traditionally of great significance.

Osho Meditations

In one of her journeys to India, Zana stayed at the International Osho Resort, where she acquired a deep interest in the meditative techniques designed by Osho.
She facilitates some of these techniques, including:

- Dynamic Meditation
- Kundalini Meditation
- Nadabrahma Meditation
- Mandala Meditation
- Vipassana Meditation

Duration: 1h

Many meditative techniques require one to sit still and silent. But for most of us accumulated stress in our bodymind makes that difficult. Before we can hope to access our inner powerhouse of consciousness, we need to let go of our tensions.
Osho Active Meditations have been scientifically designed by Osho over a period of time to enable us to consciously express and experience repressed feelings and emotions, and learn the knack of watching our habitual patterns in a new way.
